StratKIT Final Conference

Wednesday 13 October 2021 (09:30 CEST)

Thank you for attending our event!

A short and anonymous feedback questionnaire evaluating both the conference and the Sustainable Public Meal Toolkit is now available until 28/10: https://elomake.helsinki.fi/lomakkeet/113965/lomake.html

The StratKIT project, which stands for Innovative Strategies for Public Catering: Sustainability Toolkit across the Baltic Sea Region (BSR), has over the past three years been exploring how to boost and promote sustainability in public procurement and catering services. Project partners and associated organisations from six BSR countries have been exchanging ideas and approaches, as well as conducting and evaluating piloting actions to spread good solutions across European borders. The Final Conference ends our project by presenting to the public what we have learned.

Our keynote speaker, Alexandra Nikolakopoulou, Head of the Farm to Fork Strategy in the European Commission (DG Sante), opens the conference by introducing green procurement in relation to the EU’s Farm to Fork Strategy.

The event also launches our Sustainable Public Meal Toolkit in seven different languages. Over 50 tools provide both inspiration and detailed information on various aspects of sustainability transformations categorised into several thematic areas, easy to access and download. Other project activities, including piloting actions will also be presented.

The conference initiates a panel debate between panellists representing policy, procurement, research as well as industry. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and be part of the discussions.

The conference is held in English, but our conference interpreters will translate into Russian and Polish.
